How to disappear? You have to do it at night when they're asleep. Wait till the whole house goes quiet,
till no one is listening. Then move as fast as you can. Pack a bag with clothes, spare cash, batteries. Pack a
cigarette lighter, a box of birthday candles, things you can burn. Grab all the documents that bear your name, all
the evidence you exist, passport, library card, school id. Pack a black canteen, a protein bar, something to read.
You never know when you'll have a free moment on the road. Dress yourself in black. You'll travel only under the
cover of darkness. Do not wake your brother or sister on your way out the bedroom. Creep along the carpet floor on
the soft balls of your feet. Do not let them wake and find you, or it will all be over before it even started. Do
not look at the family photographs hanging in the stairwell as you descend. Do not catch your brother or sister's
gaze. Do not let even their framed portraits watch you in the act. Do not leave a note to your parents. Do not
even think about it. A lot of kids leave a note but this will only help them catch you faster. You must vanish
into thin air without a trace. As if you were swallowed up by the night itself and all that remains of you is
memory. This is what you must do. Fill your canteen with cold water from the fridge and stuff it back in your bag.
Double tie the laces of your boots. Help yourself to the box of matches in the junk drawer. You will need them. Do
not let warm memories surge to the forefront of your mind as you add to your backpack swiss army knife, backup set
of batteries, kitchen lighter. Do not think of your mother's face in the crowd of smiling parents the day of fifth
grade graduation. Do not remember dreamily all the summer afternoons on the slip and slide. The smell of dew in
the air. The chirping of birds. The distinct sense that everything was and would be all right. Do not think of
your father's arms lifting you from the wet grass with ease. Spinning you round like a airplane. Like you were
nothing. Put it out of your mind. Look out the windows, the eyes of the house, into the moonlit street. Make sure
there is no one around to see you. Make sure you are alone. Turn back to the kitchen. The living room. This is the
last time you will stand here. Do not think of the many hundreds or thousands of cereal breakfasts with mother and
father and sister and brother, right here in this warm pocket of space. The sticky ring of dried milk around your
lips as you pulled at your father's necktie. The three of you rushing out the door to catch the bus. Do not think
of these things. Do not think of anything. Leave the lights off. Let your eyes adjust. You should get used to the
dark. Under the sink you'll find a bottle of lighter fluid. Take it in your left hand and slip out the back door.
Empty your bag of everything with your name on it. The evidence of you. Dump it all into the rusted trash bin in
the yard. Dump your school books and papers and pencils and pens. Tear your homework up into million jagged pieces
and sprinkle it on top. Douse the pile in petroleum. Strike a match and drop it in. Watch it burn. Say goodbye to
the past as it blackens and frays. Fan the rising flames.

Hey there, this is my first time creating something like this.
i've always wanted to have my own private site. and finally i do!
this is just awesome
There's still a lot of stuff left to do. On top of that i have a
freelance work going on. And guess what? Today is supposed to be
the launch day. But here i am doing everything other than the stuff
I should be doing.
Elegance is in simplicity. I am really enjoying this cozy little place
that i can call mine.
